You see, I was that person that took Accounting 101 class in college and got A’s on tests without having to study. It just clicked and it all made sense to me!
I was also that person that figured out how to do my own tax return and thought to myself... that was EASY! Why was I so scared of it? It’s not confusing at all!
I have this superpower to naturally understand this stuff and I magnified it even more when I made it my career...
For 6 years, I worked in Public Accounting and obtained my CPA license. I saw the whole picture: We would do the financial statements of the company, then we would prepare the business tax returns of the company, then we would prepare the individual tax returns of the OWNERS of the company. Full circle accounting and tax mastery!
For 2 years after that, I worked with attorneys providing litigation support as a forensic accountant for high-profile celebrity divorces. I won some big cases during this time saving client’s millions and millions of dollars!
Then my entrepreneurial spirit took over and I quit my safe and secure job! I took my Side-Hustle of preparing tax returns for people and turned it into my Main-Hustle. I built and grew a tax and accounting practice from the ground up serving several hundreds of clients. I doubled my client base year-over-year until I eventually sold it at its peak.
Running my own business allowed me to take on the CFO role for various startups where I operated the finance, accounting and tax side of things and everything in between!
